Emergent readers are an excellent tool to use with young readers because the predictable text allows them to feel empowered as readers.
 
Your students will practice sight words, learn about families, their bodies, and their 5 senses. They'll also practice counting, identifying shapes and naming emotions.

6 Emergent Readers
Each reader has a color teacher copy. Print and place it in sheet protectors or laminate. After completing our readers, I usually place my teacher's copy on our monthly reading shelf to give my students an opportunity to master the text.
Each reader has a BW student copy. Students will read the text, trace the target words, and color the pictures. I encourage students to take their readers home and practice reading with their parents.
