These alphabet activity cards are the perfect addition to your morning centers or small group activities to strengthen fine motor skills as well as letter recognition and phonemic awareness.

All five activities cover each letter of the alphabet and the following skills are covered:

  • Letter recognition - build the letters with lego blocks while identifying beginning sounds.
  • Beginning sound identification - use play dough or small manipulatives to build or trace the letters and identify the two pictures on the page that start with the beginning sound.
  • Upper and lower case identification and matching - students will use the picture clues to build the puzzles and match the upper and lowercase letters.
  • Letter formation - use the letter formation cards with a dry erase marker, or trace them with play dough snakes or small manipulatives.
  • Dot Daubers - There are 4 variations of this activity included.
  • Your students can trace the upper and lowercase letters using small manipulatives.
  • You can print the BW version and have your students practice daubing with dot markers.
  • I have included a printable page for each letter. Your students will dot the upper and lowercase letters as well as the matching letters (in various fonts) at the bottom of the page.
  • There is a printable page that focuses on the beginning sound associated with each letter. Your students will dot the upper and lowercase letters as well as the pictures that start with the matching beginning sound.

Your preschool, prekindergarten, or kindergarten students will enjoy using these activities with play dough, building blocks, tweezers, and more!
