Make Learning FUN This Spring With These Hands-on Math and Literacy Centers

It's warming up and we are learning about all the new life that pops up during springtime. Continuing with these themes in our math and literacy center rotations makes learning more fun and allows my students to continue to make connections. If you're looking for fun, printable Spring math and literacy centers for your prekindergarten or kindergarten classroom, these activities would be a great addition to your plans.

LITERACY CENTERS:

There are 8 centers, including a spring word wall. Your students will have the opportunity to flex their foundational literacy skills while working with colorful, hands-on manipulatives.

Spring Spin and Cover Activity

  • Spring Word Wall - Vocabulary Practice

  • Rainbow Letter Search - Alphabet Recognition and Beginning Sounds

  • Spring Letters - Letter Formation

MATH CENTERS:

The math centers include 10 printable activities that will be both engaging and fun for your students. I like to include sensory bin elements and tools to extend the activities and add a fine motor component.

  • Flip and Find - Number recogntion 1-10 and 11-20

  • Playing with Patterns - Create AB and ABC patterns

  • Flower Spin and Add - Addition within 10

  • Pick and Plant - Subitizing with dominoes

  • Frogs in a Pond - Counting on to make 8 and 15

  • Bees In a Hive - 1:1 Correspondence 1 - 20

  • Take and Trace - 2D shape identification

  • Flower Spinner - Ten Frames

  • Spring Size Sort - Visual discrimination

EMERGENT READER:

I LOVE using emergent readers with my prek students.

WHY? Because feeling empowered as a reader is such a wonderful gift. Offering them a predictable text with picture clues allows them to 'read' a text independently and that feeling of 'I can' will hopefully stay with them as they move into Kindergarten and true reading instruction.

This Spring Math and Literacy Bundle includes a spring emergent reader that focuses on new vocabulary and sight words.

Your students or child will enjoy completing their copy and reading it to their family.
